Duskfur
Gender: Tom
Age: 8 years
Rank: Warriors
Appearance:
Skeletal// Duskfur has a large, strong build like that of a Maine Coon; large paws and a long tail. He's very large; about a head taller than any average warrior. His shoulders are wide-set as to show off his chest and his hips are as wide as his shoulders.
Muscular// Duskfur is very uscular, and doesn't care to hide it. You can see the muscles even through his thick pelt.
pelt length// Duskfur has long fur, but not so long that it touches the ground. It's rather thick but it's smooth-looking.He has a kind of mane that the Maine Coon cats share; a mix between a mane and very long neck fur. Duskfur is very proud of this and it makes him look quite regal.
pelt colors//Duskfur is, without his markings, grey. A light, silvery grey. You may call this color feminine, but it is anything but on Duskfur. He has dark grey- and sometimes black- stripes running all around his body. Starting with streaks starting from his muzzle and head downward, the stripes wrap around duskfur in a complicated way, making him look very fierce in a wierd way. He inherited these stripes from his father, and is said to be the spitting image of him.
eye//Duskfur has, well, I-dunno-whatever-color-they-are-now eyes. They are sometimes green, sometimes yellow, sometimes amber. If you're not sure if that's possible, track down your tabby's eye colors for a week.
distinguishing markings// Duskfur has one white paw that you can always distinguish him by.
Personality: Duskfur is, at best, detirmined and loyal.
Duskfur was never playful, was never kit-like, and was never truly happy. Since he was trained by his father at a very early age, before he could walk or talk, Duskfur has grown up without laughter at all. He was trained to avoid any social situations, that they were dangerous to the clan. He did not speak to other apprentices and they just left him alone. It wasn't that he liked it- he just had to. He was the hardest worker the clan saw, the first one to wake up in the morning to train and the last one in the apprentice den. He still is. He's always eager to fight, and he believes that arguements can't be solved by 'talking it over'. He's fierce an trains apprentices with an iron paw, just as his father did to him. He tries to not think of anything but the patrol, the hunt, or the duties his leader gives him. He's a senior warrior, so he's well respected.
Unfortunately, inside Duskfur isn't happy with this life at all. He wants sometimes to start a family, and wishes that he'd find a mate and kits. He's so old, though, now, that it isn't possible. Knowing that, he surrounds himself with ideas that relationships mean nothing and the bloodline is all that counts.
History: Dusk-kit was born to Hedgeclaw and Jadestream of Ashclan, in a litter of five. (Three sisters and a brother.) Hedgeclaw was a noble and well-respected warrior, but he wanted nothing but strong kits. He pushed them, starting to train them himself almost as soon as his kits were born. Dusk-kit's sister almost died in a tousle at two moons, but Hedgeclaw only saw that as weakness and wouldn't have it. Shellstream, however, had always been distanced from clan life, not hunting or fighting as much as the other cats. She tried to protect all her kits from clan life, and wouldn't let them exit the nursery until forced by Hedgeclaw. Dusk-kit had the same strong body-type of his father, so he was always his father's favorite.
Duskpaw did not lead a very average apprenticeship. The morning after he was appointed, still during his silent vigil, his mother confronted him. She had all four siblings with her. Knowing that Duskpaw was the closest to his father, Shellstream came to him last. She offered him a choice: stay here with these 'dangerous rouges' or 'live a long, happy life' with her and his siblings. She had been talking about leaving the clan, but Duskpaw did not know that she would convince all his siblings to leave. Caught between the life he loved and the family that loved him, Duskpaw had to make a hard descision. Finally, he decided to stay in Ashclan, and his mother and siblings left. In the morning, Hedgeclaw was very upset with Duskpaw for not telling someone when this happened, and ignored his only remaining son for a moon after he was apprenticed. When that phaze had passed, Hedgeclaw continued to push poor Duskpaw to the best of his ability, putting him on almost all the patrols and letting him sleep only when there was nothing to do. Duskfur had no social life or interaction with the other apprentices; all they knew was that he was a hard-working apprentice and that he never let up.
As a young warrior, Duskpaw's life became a repetitive wheel of eating, sleeping, and patrolling. Hedgeclaw insisted that Duskfur made three patrols a day, and when he didn't Dusfur was 'shamed' by his father. Duskfur was pretty meek at that point from having his father follow him around everywhere giving him orders, but he soon learned that the tests his father put his son through submounted to layers and layers of tough muscle. Duskfur, as soon as he realised this, learned to like his father's sayings and words and follow him up on all opprotunities he was given to patrol, hunt, or battle.
Once Duskfur reached about 23 moons, his father died in a battle with rouges. Even when dead, Hedgeclaw had a dissaproving glare on his face. It was a huge downfall to Duskfur; his father meant everything to him. Duskfur, by now, was well-respected as a hard-working and honest warrior of Riverclan, but he still didn't have any true friends to confide in. He had always hid his feelings from others; Hedgeclaw said that if a warrior expresses all his emotions, people think him over-reactive. Dusfur covered himself in a mature, protective tough sheild from the rest of Ashclan and didn't let anyone catch him off-guard. He never wanted to be deptuy; what he really wanted was to be respected by everyone, live a long life and die at what he did best: fight for his clan. He forged a friendship with the leader and he tells her all about what's going on in her clan. His apprentice, Oakpaw, had a rough relationship with Maywing and it just proved to Duskfur what relationships did to warriors. He told himself he would never have a mate or sire kits, though he doubts himself often.
