Age: 8 moons
Rank: Nanny
Appearance: Click
If there was one word to describe Brownsugar's appearance, it's average. She’s of average size and build, and is covered in perfectly average short fur. She’s a brown tabby, with a pale buff coloured base, dark brown stripes and no white marks to speak of. Her limbs and tail are all in normal proportion and her teeth and claws are all of average size. Her face is of average proportions, with a mid-length muzzle, a standard black nose and ears that, neither very small nor very large and mid-sized eyes that are a common green-yellow.
It’s easy to see then, that Brownsugar isn’t a stunningly beautiful cat, but neither could she be called ugly. There is nothing about her that makes her unattractive, and so, if one tries hard enough, something pretty can be detected in her perfectly symmetrical features, particularly as her normal facial expression is a roguish smile.
Perhaps unlike most of the she-cats that spend their lives in the nursery; Brownsugar is not physically unfit. She doesn't have the power and grace fo the huntresses, but she does have some muscle structure and isn't a complete dead loss when it comes to fighting.
Personality: Brownsugar is the kind of cat that, for the most part, just goes along with things. She doesn’t seek to change the world or leave any lasting impression on it, she just wants to live her life and be happy. She’s intelligent and very down-to-earth, and never lets herself get carried away by silly ideas that never amount to anything. She gets irritated be the she-cats that spend all the time talking in high-pitched voices about attracting the attention of one tom or another, but that’s not to say she’s sexist against her own gender. She tends to form a group of close-knit she-cats within the clan that feel life isn’t just about which tom likes you, and which doesn’t. Her second choice of companion is any tom that won’t sneer at her for being female, rather than the other she-cats. She’s bold and, with her friends at side, utterly fearless; she isn’t afraid to stand up to the huntresses or even the warriors, if she feels they are being unjust.
Despite all this, Brownsugar is an incredibly kind and usually gentle she-cat who never, ever judges on appearance or rank alone. Despite her boldness and daring, she’s very trusting, and finds it very hard to get suspicious. In some ways this trust is a curse as she’s very sensitive and any betrayal is taken hard. She’s not afraid to show her emotions, and anyone that knows her at all will instantly be able to see her current emotion in her body language. She’s quick to recover from any psychological blow however, and she never holds a grudge; she’ll forgive someone who wronged against her instantly. She’s extremely compassionate and will do everything in her power to help a cat in need, regardless of how cruel or unkind they’ve ever been to her. She’s also protective, over her friends but especially over the kits she looks after. She would rather die than allow one of them to be harmed.
Brownsugar’s main fault is laziness. It’s not that she doesn’t like exercise; she spends as much time as possible playing with the kittens that are her charge, it’s just that she doesn’t like chores. She hates cleaning up the nursery, fetching moss, fetching water or anything else that involves a hint of work, and while she will do it if pressed she does tend to grumble a bit.
History: Brownsugar has a standard clan history with nothing particularly unusual to note. For a while as a young cat she wasn’t sure if she was going to become a nanny; she was physically capable of becoming a huntress, and could have done so if she’d so chosen. In the end her hatred of hard work and love of kits won through, and she gave up the chance of becoming a feared and respected she-cat. She loves her job and is very glad that she did so.
