Duskfur Dusk-kit was born to Hedgeclaw and Shellstream of Ashclan, in a litter of five. (Three sisters and a brother.) Hedgeclaw was a noble and well-respected warrior, but he wanted nothing but strong kits. He pushed them, starting to train them himself at three moons. Dusk-kit's sister almost died in a tousle at four moons, but Hedgeclaw only saw that as weakness and wouldn't have it. Shellstream, however, had always been distanced from clan life, not hunting or fighting as much as the other cats. She tried to protect all her kits from clan life, and wouldn't let them exit the nursery until forced by Hedgeclaw. Dusk-kit had the same strong body-type of his father, so he was always his father's favorite.
Duskpaw did not lead a very average apprenticeship. The morning after he was appointed, still during his silent vigil, his mother confronted him. She had all four siblings with her. Knowing that Duskpaw was the closest to his father, Shellstream came to him last. She offered him a choice: stay here with these 'dangerous rouges' or 'live a long, happy life' with her and his siblings. She had been talking about leaving the clan, but Duskpaw did not know that she would convince all his siblings to leave. Caught between the life he loved and the family that loved him, Duskpaw had to make a hard descision. Finally, he decided to stay in Ashclan, and his mother and siblings left. In the morning, Hedgeclaw was very upset with Duskpaw for not telling someone when this happened, and ignored his only remaining son for a moon after he was apprenticed. When that phaze had passed, Hedgeclaw continued to push poor Duskpaw to the best of his ability, putting him on almost all the patrols and letting him sleep only when there was nothing to do. Duskfur had no social life or interaction with the other apprentices; all they knew was that he was a hard-working apprentice and that he never let up.
As a young warrior, Duskpaw's life became a repetitive wheel of eating, sleeping, and patrolling. Hedgeclaw insisted that Duskfur made three patrols a day, and when he didn't Dusfur was 'shamed' by his father. Duskfur was pretty meek at that point from having his father follow him around everywhere giving him orders, but he soon learned that the tests his father put his son through submounted to layers and layers of tough muscle. Duskfur, as soon as he realised this, learned to like his father's sayings and words and follow him up on all opprotunities he was given to patrol, hunt, or battle.
Once Duskfur reached about 23 moons, his father died in a battle with rouges. Even when dead, Hedgeclaw had a dissaproving glare on his face. It was a huge downfall to Duskfur; his father meant everything to him. Duskfur, by now, was well-respected as a hard-working and honest warrior of Riverclan, but he still didn't have any true friends to confide in. He had always hid his feelings from others; Hedgeclaw said that if a warrior expresses all his emotions, people think him over-reactive. Dusfur covered himself in a mature, protective tough sheild from the rest of Riverclan and didn't let anyone catch him off-guard. He never wanted to be deptuy; what he really wanted was to be respected by everyone, live a long life and die at what he did best: fight for his clan. He forged a friendship with Feverstar and he tells him all about what's going on in his clan. His apprentice, Oakpaw, had a rough relationship with Maywing and it just proved to Duskfur what relationships did to warriors. He told himself he would never have a mate or sire kits, though he doubts himself often. [/center]

Tinkerkit paw flameTinker was born to Kindle in her second litter with two other siblings. Unfortunately, Gruel died from starvation early in life because a famine was spreading through the rouge forest. It was Kindle's smallest litter, so she made sure to keep track of her two kits. Tinker being a girl, Kindle raised her to stay away from toms and to be wary of all surroundings, but Tink didn't like that idea. She wanted to rough-house with her brother and be the cat that everyone was scared of. She wanted to start a group of cats that only she could control. Kindle, Tink knew, never learned to fight because she couldn't handle it. Lots of she-cats in the area were owned as property and Tinker didn't want to follow their footsteps, so she tried her best to train by herself when her father taught her brother how to fight. When she couldn't train as well as him, she ran away at only 3 weeks without saying good-bye. Thinking that her daughter had been kidnapped or raped or worse, Kindle grieved for her daughter but carried on with her motherhood. Tinker, however, was off to start a new life. She was already rowdy and mischivous, but she had underestimated the amount of pain that was out in the forest that her family shared with the other rouges. Scared, Tinker wanted to go back to her mother, but her ego wouldn't let her. She somehow found a way to survive by eating scraps left by the other cats, but she realized that this was not enough. She started to un-dig prey saved for later by hunting lonors, but was caught in her first act and thrown in the river to drown. She survived, somehow, and washed up at the shores of the river in Ashclan.
