Even the foundation of Gracewood wouldn't be able to remember a time when gang activity and violence didn't rule the city. Power seemed to move from one group to the next, but it always remained within mob hands. The Gracewood Police Department fought with them for years, and found their attempts at achieving and maintaining peace were fruitless.
Over the years, alliances were made and broken, new gangs rose up and fell, but the four main ones stayed intact. There were the Yellowjackets, comprised mostly of outcasts from other gangs, the Plague Rats, being the Irish force in the area, the Gracelords, depicting the typical Italian mafia, and the Red Mob, with their harsh Russian culture and muddled accents. Those four powers each own a portion of Gracewood, but since when has any group been happy with what they have?
